TEn underwriting Services...
TEn is certainly NOT – at all – an Underwriting Agency; it is purely an Appointed Representative Network. As a consequence of this, it could be regarded as slightly confusing to devote a whole section of this site to ‘Underwriting Services’.
However, there is some logic to the presentation of things in this way.
The justification of this apparent anomaly is, simply, that some of our Appointed Representatives do provide ‘Underwriting Services’, being ‘Wholesale Brokers’ or ‘Underwriting Agents’ in certain niche areas, rather than client focused retail brokers.

Therefore, our network members that fall within this category deal exclusively with other brokers, but not necessarily or primarily (or even at all) with those who are connected with the Broking Services side of the business.
If we are being honest, which is something we like to be, this increasingly important element of TEn was not planned; it arose as a result of demand that we had not anticipated when TEn was founded originally. Nobody’s perfect!
Nonetheless, we have been more than happy to respond to the need once it was identified.
The Service
Probably the first thing to say is to warn you that almost everything that you may read or may have read on the Broking Services side of this website could well be different here.
The exception to that statement is, of course, that TEn exists to foster new professional insurance businesses, whether they are retail or wholesale.
The similarities
We remain an AR network, whether one is talking about Broking or Underwriting Services. Our proposition seems to appeal to start-ups in this area as well. We prefer propositions that are niche based and involve people dealing with people they know. It seems to work better.
The differences
Clearly, this side of the operation attracts ARs whose businesses deal with brokers, rather than the end user client. Consequently, they tend to be specialists in their own area and, as a result, we configure the services we offer slightly differently.
The Broking model of the AR equating to an Account Exec, with TEn Broker Technicians in the background does not typically apply.
The limitations
It is unlikely that we would be able to adopt two Underwriting ARs who would be competing for the same business. Other than that…?
