TEn Insurance Services Ltd, the network for independent brokers, is pleased to welcome Barbara Bradshaw as a non-executive director to its main Board.
As everybody knows, Barbara had a long standing involvement with the Institute of Insurance Brokers (IIB) and ultimately held the role of Chief Executive. In 2011 she led the IIB’s negotiations for merging with BIBA and, subsequently, continued to work within BIBA after the merger for over three years.
Barbara also holds a non-executive directorship at Broker Direct, with which she has been closely involved since its foundation. TEn co-founder and its first Managing Director, Kedric Rhodes, is also a non-executive director of Broker Direct and, indeed, was a non-executive director of the IIB as well. Consequently, there has always been a close personal and professional affiliation between TEn and the former IIB.
Director Malcolm Lee comments, “Barbara is a champion and friend of the smaller independent broker and has dedicated herself for almost 30 years to the cause. In our own way, we feel that TEn has also played its part by creating a network model that has supported the creation of many start-up brokers over the past 11 years.
Barbara will bring invaluable advice and guidance to TEn, particularly in respect of its recently announced additional focus on already established brokers of below £2.5m GWP, which initiative we call TEn Renaissance.
With her depth of knowledge of the smaller regional broker, Barbara will not only ensure we shall evolve the right level and combination of services for the market, but also keep us true to our good intentions and words. I very much look forward to working with her.”
Barbara is a passionate follower of Formula 1 motor racing and has been known to attend Grand Prix anywhere in the world.
