TEn Takes on Everest for Charity

TEn Insurance Services is proud to report its on-going commitment to charitable fund raising, during the current Coronavirus lockdown.

This month the team at TEn decided to take on a tall challenge to raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society and NHS Charities Together.

Staff from all three offices worked together to climb the height of Everest from their homes - that’s a total of 40,846 upward steps!

After a gruelling day of climbing, the team smashed their fundraising target, raising over £2,929 - 10p per ft of Everest - to be split between the two charities.

The money raised for NHS Charities Together will help provide essential support to NHS workers and volunteers at this challenging and unprecedented time.

The money raised for Alzheimer’s Society could fund 168 conversations with telephone-based Dementia Advisers. These calls provide vital advice and information to this vulnerable group of people and those that are caring for them, during a particularly isolating time.

This virtual trek follows on from a very real one around Mont Blanc, in September 2018; again in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society. Then, TEn Director Dawn Derbyshire, joined other luminaries from the Insurance Market, to raise over £100,000 as part of the effort in support of Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD).

Whatever next? The North Face of the Eiger perhaps?

Enjoyed this? Why not share it?
